Train and Certify believes that ongoing assessment and certification is paramount in ensuring consistent training delivery.
The IITT has combined Government, BCS (ACTT), and IITT standards to create a competency framework for trainers, tutors and teachers which encapsulates industry and educational best practice standards.
This framework includes the assessment criteria that:

• Deliver the IITT’s certificate ICTP (Institute Certified Training Practitioner) jointly awarded by IITT and BCS allowing you to apply for Professional membership of the IITT.

• Can form part of a wider portfolio of evidence leading to the nationally recognised qualification PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) which is an accredited qualification at either level 3 or 4 on the QCF (Qualifications and Credit Framework).

Benefits for trainers

You will receive an Assessor’s Report, outlining your individual Key Performance Indicators, which allows you to grow your training skills. If your assessment achieves the required standard, you can immediately apply for the IITT ICTP certificate and use the assessor report as part of a wider portfolio of evidence to achieve the accredited qualification PTLLS. This nationally recognised qualification generates credits that are portable and will be yours to keep if you change employment.

Benefits for employers

You can now assess and benchmark your own trainers to national standards. The assessment framework provides you with a full set of Key Performance Indicators against the relevant Competency Measures, giving you key data to measure each trainer’s performance and development, set a benchmark for your trainers and use the KPIs to highlight areas for trainer development.

Getting Started

Our Train The Trainer course includes assessment, so provided that you are successful you can immediately apply for IITT Professional membership and with additional evidence move forward to achieving the nationally recognised qualification PTTLS.
We also run assessment only sessions, which are useful for employers seeking to certify staff they have trained internally, and for annual review and ongoing monitoring to ensure all training is performed to the highest quality standards which are aligned to national standards under the Qualifications and Credit Framework .
