How do I gain an IITT qualification & membership, and an OCR level 4 national qualification?

There are two routes: attend our 3 or 5 day Train the Trainer course, or if you are confident that your training skills will map to the TPMA assessment, just attend one of our one day assessment sessions. You then submit a portfolio of your work to the IITT for OCR approval.

My trainers are already TAP certified - why would they want this as well?

There are two main benefits to the TPMA service: 1) You can have all of your trainers assessed and monitored on a regular basis, maintaining control of the performance of all your trainers across the organisation. 2) Because your trainers are already TAP certified, with the TPMA live assessment they will qualify for the new Government backed qualification PTLLS which is a Level 4 qualification on the national Qualifications & Credit Framework. The later requires additional evidence to be submitted in the form of a portfolio.

How often do I need to assess my trainers?

The IITT recommendation is to assess your trainers on an annual basis but you can decide on the frequency. For membership purposes you will need to have them assessed at least once every 3 years. We strongly recommend an annual assessment to monitor performance and promote ongoing improvement.
